Abstract

The Pontianak City AIDS Commission (KPA) noted that during the January-June 2016 period there were 17 housewives out of77 cases of HIV positive infection in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan Province, this shows that currently HIV transmissionenters the household and leads to problems social. Relatively few studies on HIV from social studies. People with HIV are still seen as a disease that has a bad social impact on society because there are still many people who thinkthat the disease is a disease that is considered negative, and the sufferer is seen as a terrible creature compared to other diseases.Life Story qualitative research is the choice, the purpose of research on the social interaction of housewives after suffering fromHIV in their social environment in the City of Pontianak is: To describe and analyze the dynamics of social interaction, rejection or community acceptance of housewives after suffering from HIV in their social environment, and what factors causehousewives after suffering from HIV experience changes in social interaction. The author uses the theory of Gillin and Gillinwhich suggests social interaction is a reciprocal relationship between individual humans and other individuals, betweenindividuals and groups and between groups. Descriptive analysis results about the dynamics of housewife social interactionHIV sufferers experience changes in patterns of interaction that change depending on the interpretation of PLWHA on thestimulation of the surrounding environment, namely (a) Housewife HIV sufferers will be open about their illness if their socialenvironment can receive HIV sufferers the same as people with disease others, (b) Housewives Open HIV sufferers about thedisease in the nuclear family only but the social environment and work environment are still closed because of fear of gettingdiscriminatory behavior and termination of employment, (c) Housewife HIV sufferers are only open to their life partners eventhough the social environment remains closed. There will be no social isolation if knowledge or understanding of HIV isproperly accepted and understood by the environment and the community around PLWHA, as other communicable diseasescan be accepted by the community as a common disease. It is hoped that the Government can be more proactive and creativeagain in efforts to disseminate a broader HIV program that is not only to special groups but extended to places of worship, schools and general public groups.
